Document Imaging and Scanning

Convert to PDF - OCR using microMEDIA

We convert to PDF and perform OCR (Optical Character Recog-nition) with very high accuracy.  microMEDIA's conversions are done at client sites or our facility.

  • PDF scanning  - Using the Developer's Version of ABBYY? , we can convert  large-scale document collections to PDF and rapidly generate optimal output formatting that meet specific client requirements for paper scanning and digitization of microfilm and microfiche..

  • OCR recognition services - Full-Text Search is available for documents scanned from paper sheets, books, magazines and bound materials as well as microfilm and microfiche.     We have a number of Forms Processing Solutions that use Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) to capture hand-written information, image marks, filled bubbles, etc.

  • Onsite document conversions -- We have a separate dedicated department for onsite projects, an important focus of our firm.  Between five and fifteen onsite outsourcing projects are generally underway throughout the U.S.  microMEDIA provides the equipment, software, personnel and, most importantly, project management.

Should manual data entry be required where OCR recognition is not feasible, we can key and verify data at our facility or onsite at our client's location and still deliver PDF files.  At lower cost, we have available an extensive network of offshore data entry affiliates.  microMEDIA has been sending media offshore for data entry since 1981.

Our Web-based document hosting affords companies the ability to archive and process data on a real-time basis.  Secure access is available to authorized users from any location.  We fully administer our sites for backup, software and hardware upgrades, security monitoring, etc.  All phases of a project conversion phases such as preparation, scanning,  indexing, PDF conversion, OCR/ICR, etc. can be done by microMEDIA , directly by our client or apportioned to either based upon the most efficient systems approach.

No service bureau can match our experience and state-of-the-art outsourcing techniques.  We have been providing Portable Document Format and OCR conversions for 20 years.  Projects include multi-million dollar conversions, client-site facilities management and "on demand" information retrieval.

We scan images from all types of media ranging from rare books to existing computer files.  Methods include single page processing with manual data entry at the simplest level extending to high-speed OCR/ICR, forms processing and media conversions.

Our successful project management and data conversion experience is backed up by outstanding references in government and almost every paper-intensive industry.  For our key markets and alliances, click on the navigation tab at the top of the page.

We do not have an "out-of-the-box" approach to conversions.  Our experience substantiates the commonsense premise that every client's needs for outsourcing are somewhat different, even within the same industry, government agency and application area.  As a result, every microMEDIA project is customized and tailored to specific client requirements.
